I have a problem with this whole idea of "misfit toys". I mean, damaged toys, defective toys, okay, but the kind of stuff we're dealing with is way beyond that. These things should have been caught in the design phase, and never put into production.
Also, given mass production, shouldn't there be thousands of spotted elephants.
I may be more cynical than you.
